Urban design for the Tweebaksmarkt district in Leeuwarden
In an urban design for the Tweebaksmarkt district HvdH mapped out the various interventions that were caused by the construction of the Province House. The public realm of Tweebaksmarkt, redesigned by HvdH, one of the resulting interventions.
As much as possible existing clinker bricks have been re-used. New stone curbs and paving articulate the parking places, the entrance areas of public buildings and the street terraces of the hotel. The geometry is taken from the monumental facades of the public buildings and the slight splay in the former canal, which has given Tweebaksmarkt its name.
