7 December 2023 – The Hague palazzi! As part of my visiting professorship in Bologna, I showed my students our design study to the renewal of the Weigeliaplein in the Hague. The design relies on the preservation of the neighborhood park and the characteristic three- and four-story building heights of the Haage neighborhood. By using the typology of Italian domestic palazzi, it was possible to achieve the requested 35% densification. Additionally, it appeared to be possible to locate all dwellings directly at the neighbourhood park.
