The Municipality of Amsterdam is preparing its city extension on Strandeiland. The urban plan and the city image are ready. The city needed further typological investigation of a number of plots in the plan. The typology of Southern and Central European palazzi as a model for housing construction, once derived from the residential palazzi of the Renaissance, offers possibilities for high-end construction in high densities. Outline variants for four plots have been explored.
