In cooperation with Franz Ziegler, HvdH designed three housing projects for the Grauwaart district within Leidsche Rijn nearby Utrecht. One of those projects consist of two car free streets (woonerven in Dutch) which intersect the largest block of Grauwaart. The woonerven are shaped by row houses on either side. The timber work of cornices and dormers separates the roofs from the facades. The kitchens of the houses have double doors. In practice, the front gardens are used for dwelling intensely.
