22 March 2021 – Aachen University has published a catalogue with projects which were presented last year at the Aachener Tagung – Identität der Architektur. At the last edition of the yearly symposium the theme of construction in design was discussed.

I showed the extension of the art building Bluecoat Chambers. In the design was sought for a continuity between the monumental former boys school and the new wing with exhibition spaces and a theatre. The structure have been adjusted to the grid of the existing building and provided the desired continuity in the experience of the old and the new. Good that this aspect of the design is highlighted in the publication.
