11 November 2014 – The technical university of Munich [TUM] invited me to speak at their conference Design Methodology which deals with the ‘reflection on design practice and development of architectural form and process in dialogue with neighbouring disciplines such as engineering science, design and art.’ Other speakers include Dutch architects Job Floris, Jacob van Rijs and Nanne de Ru.
Design methodology may be appreciated as the ‘knowledge how to design buildings’. Unfortunately, the relation with every day practice is not always that clear in current teaching. There seems to be territory to be won. The list of speakers suggests a choice for a practice biased approach. That is appealing.
The conference will take place on 21 November, 3 and 4 December.
