16 October 2025 – Shortly after another, two podcasts were released featuring interviews with HvdH. Interviews can sometimes be tough and interrogative. These two conversations were different: inquisitive, reciprocal, benevolent.

At the office of De Architect, Merel Pit and Floortje Keijzer spoke with him about his development as an architect: about his time at Mecanoo, the impetus provided by winning Europan-4, working in England and Germany, and discovering buildings that fall outside the modernist canon. The podcast is part of the series Over architectuur gesproken (Talking about architecture).

HvdH then spoke with British academic Ambrose Gillick, who produces the impressive podcast series A is for Architecture. The latest episode is called A rationalist architecture and focused on HvdH’s various studies and publications.

Both conversations centred on urban design and the place of housing within urbanism.
