5 May 2021 – Drawing Matter is a British organisation that explores the role of drawing in architectural thought and practice. Today they published a conversation between my London colleague Richard Hall and me. It was a pleasant conversation about the drawing, practice, and education. It was about the readability of the drawing and the will to express oneself as an architect in an understandable way.
The article is illustrated with examples from the diagram series and recent drawings of Haus Lemke in Berlin (L. Mies van der Rohe), the Zuiderhof cemetery in Hilversum (W.M. Dudok) and the only real residential palazzo in the Netherlands, the equally unknown and ingenious Lutherhof in Amsterdam (D. van Oort).
