HANS VAN DER HEIJDEN ARCHITECTEN is looking, in the short term, for an ambitious design staff member with strong analytical skills, a passion for technical drawing, and a keen eye for detail.

HANS VAN DER HEIJDEN ARCHITECTEN works on architecture in which context, history, and contemporary use come together naturally. From a clear design approach, we explore how buildings can meaningfully contribute to their surroundings—carefully, sustainably, and with attention to spatial quality at all scales. Our projects are characterized by precision, calmness, and a deep understanding of place and use.

Who are we looking for?

As a new colleague, you will be part of a compact and committed team and work on projects throughout all design phases: from initial analysis and concept development to detailed design. You will actively contribute to the design, explore alternatives, translate ideas into clear drawings, visualizations, and presentations, and engage in substantive dialogue with clients and consultants. In collaboration with contractors, you will remain critical and focused on quality through to realization.

Within the office, there is room to further develop your qualities and ambitions. Together, we work on architecture that is sustainable in use, carefully embedded in its context, and has long-term value.

What do you bring?

– A completed degree in architecture or currently enrolled in an architecture program

– Relevant work experience across all design phases (from schematic design to final design)

– Strong analytical and design skills

– Solid technical knowledge with a passion for technical drawing

– Experience with ArchiCAD and Adobe software is a plus

– Good graphic and presentation skills

– Affinity with both urban scale and architectural detail

– Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team

– A positive, critical, and research-oriented attitude

– Proficiency in Dutch, both spoken and written
